# Mosyle

The Mosyle integration connects Harmony to your Mosyle Business environment, giving you visibility into your Apple device fleet directly within Harmony. Once connected, Harmony automatically collects and syncs device data from Mosyle, so your support teams always have accurate, up-to-date context when working with managed devices.

### What Harmony collects from Mosyle

After connecting Mosyle, Harmony syncs the following from your environment:

* **Managed device inventory** - Macs, iPhones and iPads, and Apple TVs enrolled in Mosyle, including model, serial number, operating system version, storage and network details
* **Assigned users** - the user each device is assigned to in Mosyle, used to associate devices with employees in Harmony

Harmony keeps this data current so you do not need to manually reconcile information between platforms.

Mosyle's API does not expose per-device installed software, so applications are not collected from this integration. Devices synced from Mosyle appear in asset management, but not in the Applications view.

### Before you start

Make sure you have:

* **A Mosyle Business account** with administrator access
* **A dedicated admin user for the integration**. Harmony authenticates as this user, so using a personal account means the sync stops working the next time that person changes their password or leaves.

### Creating an access token in Mosyle

1. Log in to Mosyle Business.
2. Go to **Organization** > **Integrations**.
3. Open **Mosyle API Integration** and select **Add New Token**.
4. Copy the token. You will need it when configuring the integration in Harmony.

### Connecting Mosyle to Harmony

Mosyle requires both an organization access token and the credentials of an admin user. Both the token and the password are securely masked after entry and are never exposed in plain text within the Harmony interface.

To connect Mosyle:

1. In Harmony, go to **Settings** and navigate to the **Integrations** section.
2. Locate **Mosyle** under the MDM integrations and select the option to add a new connection.
3. Enter the following:
   * **Access token** - the token you created in Mosyle
   * **Admin email** - the email address of the dedicated Mosyle admin user
   * **Admin password** - that user's password
4. Save the configuration.

Harmony will begin collecting device data from your Mosyle environment shortly after the connection is established.

#### Multiple Mosyle instances

If your organization manages more than one Mosyle account, you can configure multiple independent Mosyle integrations within Harmony. Each instance is set up and managed separately, following the same steps above.

### Asset management

Devices collected from Mosyle appear in Harmony's asset management alongside those from other MDM providers, with Mosyle shown as the source so you can identify where each record originates. Devices are associated with employees using the assigned user from Mosyle, giving you a complete picture of what your workforce is using.

### Notes

* Mosyle follows the same setup and management pattern as other MDM integrations in Harmony's settings, so the experience is consistent if you already use other MDM providers.
* Devices removed from Mosyle stop appearing in Harmony after the next sync.
* If you need to update or rotate the access token or the admin password, return to the integration settings in Harmony and update the credentials for the relevant Mosyle instance. Rotating the admin password in Mosyle without updating it in Harmony will stop the sync.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.harmony.io/integrations/mdm/mosyle.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
